Gelee de coing

With plump Quince ripening around the courtyard walls at National Trust of Guernsey’s Folk and Costume Museum, Saumarez Park, v.Japonica Chaenomeles are ready to be conjured into flavoursome treats.  Quince cheese (Dulce de Membrillo) or Quince jelly add fruity notes to lamb stews and game dishes … or simply, add a sweet top hat on savoury cheese.
This golden and aromatic beauty definitely deserves home enjoyment, so if the thought tickles your culinary fancy, call or email Christian Morris, our Curator at NTG Museum, Saumarez Park to arrange collection.
If your epicurean results are too good not to share, please let us know and your Quince recipe could just about make it into our Autumn 2016 Newsletter which goes out to 1500+ members but if not this year, definitely 2017.
