Like a dog with its nose to the wind, Guernsey Bean Jar comes rolling in with Autumn.
A traditional Island recipe using simple ingredients of pork hock, root vegetables and haricot beans, this is the quintessential comfort food of Guernsey as temperatures cool. We know the change from an island set in spring and summer glittering seas, to an island in the middle of the English Channel. This honey-pot of warmth always brings a smile to the table.
Here is our traditional recipe, but there are many variations with a little tweak or twist here and there.
