Vale field left to NTG

News

National Trust of Guernsey has been left a Vale field, saving it from possible future development. In line with our aim to preserve Guernsey’s historic buildings, open spaces and plant and animal life, the biodiversity of this latest acquisition will be protected.

‘I never got to speak to the previous owner, so I can only assume the land was left to us to save it from future development and the desire to maintain it as a green field site’

Mike Brown, President

Located near Beaucette Marina, this new acquisition is the fifth parcel of land that the trust now owns in the Vale. The gift of the land came as a surprise to the trust and, on behalf of National Trust of Guernsey, Mike Brown expressed gratitude for the generosity of the land owner.

The land is currently being farmed and we are keen for the tenant to continue farming on the land in a way that also preserves the site’s natural habitat. However, we do not know who the current tenant is and would appreciate their getting in touch to discuss the existing arrangements and future plans.
