National Trust of Guernsey heartily welcomes ‘the glorious sound of Wales on an island of song’ with a performance by the Guernsey Welsh Male Voice Choir on Saturday 14th July at 3pm, at The Courtyard, The Folk and Costume Museum, Saumarez Park. We are thrilled that Guernsey Welsh Male Voice Choir will open the National Trust of Guernsey’s Summer Courtyard Concerts for 2018.

The Guernsey Welsh Male Voice Choir was first formed in 2003 under the guise of “Welsh Boys Aloud”, when a group of Welsh expatriates from the Guernsey Rugby Club decided the time had come for Guernsey to experience the unique sound of a Welsh male voice choir.

Since those formative years, the choir has progressed in terms of its membership and development of a varied repertoire, including many favourite songs, such as:

You Raise Me Up, Nessun Dorma, Bring Him Home, American Trilogy, You Are So Beautiful, This is the Moment, Let It Be Me. The Rose, Happy Together and Bridge Over Troubled Water.

An indication of the pleasure that Guernsey Welsh Male Voice Choir has given to Island audiences, is included in this recent testament:  “the atmosphere you created in St James and the sound you produced … will not be forgotten by me, or the many others who attended”.

We very much look forward to hearing Guernsey Welsh Male Voice Choir perform at The Courtyard and hope you’ll join us for this and more of the Summer Courtyard Concerts 2018.
