To mark the 50th anniversary year of the opening of the Folk (and Costume) Museum, the official opening party this year will be joined by representatives from La Société Guernesiase, who will be given a tour of the museum, including the new costume displays, celebrating some of the jewels of the collection, collected over the last 50 years.
This is the first event of a special year at the museum, when we are particularly remembering the contributions made by people and organisations who have been involved with the museum, courtyard and outbuildings throughout the last 50 years.
From the opening day and throughout 2018’s Heritage Festival (20th March – 10th May) we will be gathering recollections and news, relating to the history of the museum, both before and after its founding in 1968.
Please get in touch or just drop into the museum any time during this period to share your memories and hopefully, some photographs of your own history with the museum. Perhaps you were brought to the museum as a child, or maybe you can remember the courtyard before the museum was opened?
Let’s meet again
