The National Trust of Guernsey’s unique Victorian Shop and Parlour at 26 Cornet Street, St. Peter Port opens for the 2018 season, on Tuesday 3rd April, 2018.
As always, Shop Manageress, Elizabeth Lihou is gathering an unusual and carefully planned range of stock, to include some bespoke items, made especially for the National Trust of Guernsey.
During a year when Victor Hugo’s house is closed for restoration and we may lose passing footfall, please remember our lovely little shop more than ever and pay us a visit. You are sure to be delighted.
26 Cornet Street is often a destination place for lovers of traditional sweets, where they are stored in jars, on rows of shelves and weighed out by hand. Making a choice about which ones to buy is the most testing part of the sweet-buying process. Nostalgic memories and old-favourite sweets pour out of the jars where Liquorice Confits, Bonbon Toffees – White, Lemon and Strawberry, Pear Drops, Rhubarb and Custard are but a few of a tantalising selection. Open five days a week (not Mondays) 10am-4pm.
Closed on Liberation Day, Wednesday 9th May 2018
